Whenever I'm stressed or annoyed or overwhelmed or I've been sitting on the couch too long, the cure is always to just get outside. And as a photographer, the cure is even better if I can bring my camera.
Yesterday I had that itch to get outside, so my husband and I went down the road to one of the many paths the City of Thornton has to offer. There were wildflowers, dragonflies and old rusty farm equipment, as well as hundreds and hundreds of cliff swallow nests under a bridge. This is what I love so much about living in Colorado and getting out in nature -- you could return to the exact same place day after day and always discover something new.
We held hands, admired the nests, followed the paved path, and used large, smooth stones to stand in the middle of the river. It was relaxing and invigorating at the same time and I can't wait to go back again and discover something new next time.
