Halfway Decent Adventure: Sweet Heart Winery and A.K.A. Kitchen
I have dreamed of walking among rows and rows of wine barrels for years but never had the chance to visit and explore a full winery until this past Saturday when I went with my in-laws to Sweet Heart Winery in Loveland. And I must say, it made my little wine-filled heart soar. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and we had so much fun hanging out together.
We found a table in the tasting room and immediately ordered “The best of both” red and white tasting flights to try five different wines as well as a meat and cheese board. I forgot to get a photo of the meat and cheese board even though it was both gorgeous and delicious because I was too busy stuffing my face. I will do better next time.
Also, because my sister-in-law only likes super sweet wine, I basically got to drink all ten glasses. We do not waste wine after all.
After our tasting we went outside to wander around the gorgeous property and, of course, had to take a few photos together.
Because of said ten glasses of wine, I have no clue where we went next, but I drank three glasses of water there and rallied for our final stop, A.K.A. Kitchen in downtown Loveland.
The menu was so unique and delicious that I had a difficult time choosing but ended up going with the Raspberry-Basil Collins to drink, charred asparagus for an appetizer and the Pork and Peaches for dinner. It was pork tenderloin and grilled peaches in a bourbon sauce over grits and oh mer gosh insert drool emoji here. I’ve never had anything like it and, again, forgot to take a photo because I stuffed every bite of it into my face faster than the rich scent could even waft up to my nose.
If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip, I highly recommend visiting Loveland and checking out Sweet Heart Winery and A.K.A. Kitchen. The town is also gorgeous to just walk around and they have a ton of cute little shops and events throughout the summer.
