Halfway Decent gratitude
I don’t spend enough time savoring the quiet moments between all the heres and theres. Between the life that built who I am and the one that holds who I want to be. There are not enough pauses and breaths and seeing the beauty in where I am right now. And the child in front of me will always be more grown, which is sometimes exhilarating and sometimes leaves me longing for the tiny boy who’s hair smelled like sunshine (...sometimes).
I think days like today are here to help remind us to not take any moments for granted. We’ll forget again, because we’re human, but maybe over time we can learn to savor life a little more every day.
